Coach's Remarks: Katie is a great young weightlifter- she works hard everyday, yet still smiles and always has fun. I can always count on her to cheer for her teammates at practice and meets. She is truly the kind of person you want on your team! With almost everyone I coach in weightlifting there are two types of athletes (1) those who I have to encourage to put more weight on the bar and (2) those who I have to yell at to take weight off the bar and work on technique. Katie has the exceptional ability to regulate her own training - I never have to tell her to adjust her weights (up or down). She's always working with perfect training weights. At such a young age (training or biological) I find this be awesome!
